With Spring ..Come New Beginnings

Just as life unfolds with new and revived beginnings, the same has occurred at Home Accents.

Our team has worked in the diligent sense with keeping You in mind and will be offering some amazing new products and expanding upon existing services, which may not be known by most, namely our Interior Design Service. If you have the inspiration piece, we will work to achieve the end result with all the suggestions from furniture layout/scale/fabric and/or surface choices to help you achieve your desired space. And naturally, if you need an inspiration - we are here to help you find just that!

Not only have we given the showroom a "new" facelift, with an amazing color infusion, but we have secured some incredible & affordable offerings in the way of gifts, accessories, soft goods, Maine-Made product, accessories, vintage collectibles & more.

Another convenient and up-to-date way to check in for product is through our website at http.www.mainehomeaccents.com. (Please know at present we are refreshing our site)

As our Store Manager says, "the dust has not officially settled" and after all, isn't that what Spring is all about. The changes that occur incrementally daily right before our very eyes!

We continue to seek more of what we are so proud of here at Home Accents, coastal eclectic wares, American & Maine-Made product, in addition to expanding some of our furnishings.

Please take the time to visit us at Home Accents, when in the area and in our relatively new showroom located at 264 US Route 1, Scarborough, next to Scarborough Grounds.

When visiting, if there is anything more of or less of you would like to see, your feedback would be appreciated and will help us ease into a successful upcoming season.

Hope to See You Soon - and don't forget about our borrowing program.

Trend 2012

2012 is going to be an interesting year-especially in the Design Industry. We, at HOME ACCENTS, are delighted that many of the styles will be representative of who we are.

This year will be color infused, yet on the other hand, grey is the NEW Black and here in New England, we are all too familiar with many "grey-on-grey days" - so take advantage of using this color and keep some caution in mind, when doing so!

The Trends Are:

.GLOBAL - Take all those "cultural" delights you possess or want to obtain and mix them up. Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns!

.LUXE - (Oh one of my favorites!) - Luxe is just as it sounds. Stimuli of richness for the eyes, from colors, to textures - many representative of treasures found, acquired or inspired from the Orient!

Luxe is forever timeless!

.TRADITIONAL - The New Traditional is CLASSIC DECORATING with a breezy air. An element of must is some gold "somewhere". Used as matte, the statement will yield to causal-gloss leads to glam.

Seems like popularity in Antiques is on the rise - even with the young. The rage is, additionally, re-purposing - however; be leary how much you repurpose certain pieces, as such can alter the value of your piece. A tip to the wise, if your acquired or inherited antique is in pristine condition, leave it & funk it out with elements of accessories art work and the like for a modern day twist to traditional!

And Last-but NOT least is:

.MODERN - Neon shades, abstract patterns, embellished nail head silhouettes - even art nouveau chairs juxtaposed against a minimalist interior and executed in funky shades of leather or velvet speak the new Modern!

Our Team at HOME ACCENTS represents the Coastal Eclectic-yet there are elements of our personalities within the showroom reflective of each one of these trends!

Best Wished for 2012!

Setting Some Signature Style for Your Holiday Table and HOME ACCENTS Workshop

I have had the honor of representing HOME ACCENTS by the invite of WCSH6 to empower the audience of Maine with some tips on affordable & tasteful holiday tablescapes, using simple items, from coastal casual to elegant woodland in an "out-of-the-box fashion!

When you set your "signature" style with an element of personable touches, you have created a memory the minute your guests view and sit at your table. Isn't that, after all life is about - creating memories.

A Big Thanks to you All at WCSH6, especially to Sharon Rose for making, what I love to do best and my air "debut" very relaxed and natural.

The Holiday Decorating segment will air tomorrow morning, 11/30/11 at 4:30 a.m. And DON'T forget there is still some room left for our Holiday Workshop, where Tara will be offering some Trim-A-Tree Advice and of which Jane from Kitchen & Cork will feature a fabulous "micro" wine tasting.

With that said, your trees n table will have some signature style and with the education of some great wines you can rest assured that you will be ready for the Holidays.

And please remember to bring a gently used coat or unwrapped gift for a child less fortunate that others. Thank you.
